Fikayo Tomori has already decided his next move after AC Milan loan deal finishes

Fikayo Tomori left Chelsea on loan in the January transfer window, but the question will now be whether he will return to Stamford Bridge. The 23-year-old broke into the Blues team under former head coach Frank Lampard last season, but fell down the centre-back pecking order following the arrival of Thiago Silva last summer. As a result, Tomori was allowed to depart Chelsea for AC Milan - albeit on loan in order to get regular first-team minutes under his belt during the second half of the season. So far, he made four appearances across all competitions for the Rossoneri, including three in Serie A as Stefano Pioli's side find themselves in a title battle with rivals Inter Milan. ‘Immense’ – AC Milan fans love what Chelsea loanee Fikayo Tomori did on his full debut

From a spare part at Chelsea to starting for the Serie A leaders, it's been quite the turnaround in fortunes for Fikayo Tomori who received warm reviews following his full debut for AC Milan on Saturday. Tomori made his first appearance for the Rossoneri in midweek as he replaced the injured Simon Kjaer after 20 minutes of the Milan derby against Inter. The strength of that performance, and the ongoing absence of Kjaer, led Milan coach Stefano Pioli to keep the 23-year-old in his XI against Bologna in what was, somewhat remarkably, his first league start of the 2020/21 season. Tomori completed the full 90 minutes as Milan claimed a 2-1 victory through an Ante Rebic goal and Franck Kessie penalty, with Andrea Poli claiming an 81st minute consolation for the hosts. Tomori joined Milan on loan until the end of the season last week, with a £26 million ($36m) option to buy included in the final deal. The 23-year-old had been starved of regular minutes in the first half of the campaign at Chelsea, and opted to seek a new challenge abroad instead of continuing to warm the bench at Stamford Bridge.Editors' Picks He made his debut as a substitute for Milan in a Coppa Italia quarter-final clash against Inter on Tuesday, which Stefano Pioli's side u...

Chelsea transfer news live: Erling Haaland blow, Fikayo Tomori plans, starlet tipped for exit

Chelsea's January transfer window is yet to really get going but deals are expected between now and the end of the month. The Blues did the majority of their shopping in the summer, spending more than £200million to revamp their squad. That summer spending means Frank Lampard is unlikely to get any further funds to strengthen his squad again this winter, but departures are expected with a number of players out-of-favour. Defender Fikayo Tomori is expected to depart in the coming days with a loan move to AC Milan on the table, and there is talk of further exits after Danny Drinkwater's departure. Meanwhile, rumours of summer incomings are also forthcoming, especially when it comes to Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland, who has been linked with a summer move to Stamford Bridge. Thou...

Every word Frank Lampard said on Mount’s critics, Werner’s form and Chelsea’s trip to Leicester

Team news ahead of the game? Andreas Christensen's available and N'Golo Kante unfortunately isn't, his hamstring isn't ready. Fikayo Tomori, was a regular but now down the pecking order. Why? I don't think there's any 'when did it start to go wrong', Fikayo's a developing player. As a squad we had four centre-backs last year, and you can't play four in one game. And you try to find consistency at different times. At one point Fikayo was in that, and then later on not so much. And this year we have five centre-backs, so the predicament is difficult for centre-backs who are not playing regularly. And that's why he may go out on loan for his development, he's a young player and he's had a huge rise in the last two or so seasons since I've been working with him, and that will continue, and ...
