Traditionally, every week we bring you a list of the top performances of Slovenians who are currently playing abroad.
   #1. This week’s number one is former international guard Luka Doncic (201-99, currently plays in NBA). He led Dallas Mavericks to a victory over the Charlotte Hornets (6-7) 104-93 in the NBA in Wednesday night’s game.
Doncic was MVP of the game. He had a double-double by scoring 34 points and getting 13 rebounds. Doncic also added 9 assists and 4 blocks in 35 minutes on the court.
The Dallas Mavericks have 6-5 record this season.
It was his team’s fourth consecutive victory in a row.
But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen.
Doncic has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 27.5ppg, 9.6rpg, 8.8apg, 2FGP: 58.0%(80-138), 3FGP: 26.0% and FT: 74.4% in 10 games he played so far.
Doncic played for the Slovenian senior national team four years ago.

   #2. Second place goes to former U16 international center Jusuf Nurkic (213-94, currently plays in NBA). Nurkic contributed to a Portland Trail Blazers‘ victory against the Sacramento Kings (5-8) 132-126 in the NBA on Wednesday night.
He had a double-double by scoring 18 points and getting 12 rebounds. Nurkic also added 3 blocks in 30 minutes.
The Portland Trail Blazers have 7-5 record this season.
It was his team’s fourth consecutive victory in a row.
But the season just started, so everything may happen.
It’s Nurkic’s fourth year with the team.
He has relatively good stats this season: 9.8ppg, 7.7rpg, 2.8apg, 2FGP: 51.6%, 3FGP: 25.0% and FT: 55.6% in 12 games.
Nurkic has a dual citizenship: Bosnia and Herzegovina and Slovenian.
He played for the Slovenian U16 national team in 2010.

   #3. The Slovenian player who performed third best last week abroad was an international guard Klemen Prepelic (191-92, currently plays in Euroleague). Prepelic could not help Valencia Basket (11-9) in their last game on Tuesday. Despite his good performance Valencia Basket was defeated 95-80 on the road by the higher-ranked Armani Milano (#5).
Prepelic recorded 12 points.
This season Prepelic has relatively solid stats: 11.2ppg, 1.2rpg, 3.1apg, 2FGP: 61.2%(30-49), 3FGP: 38.4% and FT: 97.5%(39-40).
He is also a member of the Slovenian senior national team.
   #4. An experienced guard Goran Dragic (190-86, currently plays in NBA) helped Miami Heat win their game against the Washington Wizards (3-8) 128-124 in the NBA last Saturday.
Dragic scored 21 points and added 5 passes in 20 minutes.
The Miami Heat has 4-6 record this season.
But the season is still in its first stage and everything can happen.
Dragic is one of the most experienced players in a team as it’s his sixth year in Heat’s roster.
He has very impressive stats this season: 14.8ppg, 2.3rpg and 5.0apg in eight games.
Dragic used to play for the Slovenian national team
back in 2017.
   #5. International swingman Blaz Mesicek (197-97, currently plays in ABA League) was the major contributor in Split‘s victory against the fourth-ranked Buducnost (9-2) 78-77 in the ABA League on Saturday night.
He scored 18 points (was perfect 5-for-5 from the free throw line).
KK Split (5-10) is placed ninth in the ABA League.
It’s Mesicek’s first season with the team.
Mesicek has reliable stats this year: 11.5ppg, 2.6rpg and 3.0apg.
He plays currently for the Slovenian national team.

   #6. Forward Zoran Dragic (196-89, agency: Network Sports International, currently plays in Euroleague) was not able to help Baskonia in their game against Fenerbahce (10-10) in the Euroleague. Despite his good performance last Tuesday He recorded 12 points.
Dragic’s overall stats this season are: 9.5ppg, 1.7rpg and 1.1apg.
He is a former international player as he played for the Slovenian senior team two years ago.

   #7. Former international shooting guard Gregor Glas (197-1, currently plays in Serbia) was the main contributor in a Dynamic VP‘s victory against the 11th-ranked Metalac (6-10) 74-56 in the Serbian KLS on Sunday night.
Glas was the best player in that game. He recorded 22 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists and made 2 blocks (made all of his eight free throws) in 34 minutes.
KK Dynamic Vip Pay Beograd (8-8) is placed seventh in the KLS.
They ended the series of three consecutive loses.
Glas has very impressive stats this year: 20.6ppg, 4.6rpg, 2.9apg and 2.2spg in 16 games.
He used to play for the Slovenian national team
two years ago.

   #8. Center Jordan Morgan (204-91, college: Michigan, currently plays in EuroCup) managed to help Unics Kazan in a victory against the fourth-ranked Andorra (0-1) 73-66 in the Eurocup last Wednesday.
Morgan recorded only 4 points, 10 rebounds and 2 blocks in 29 minutes.
Unics Kazan (1-0) is placed first in group H.
Morgan’s stats this year are: 12.5ppg, 7.0rpg and 1.6apg in 10 games.
He is a naturalized American.
Morgan plays currently for the Slovenian national team.
He used to play for Petrol Olimpija Ljubljana in Slovenian league.

   #9. International point guard Matic Rebec (183-95, currently plays in France) was not able to secure a victory for SPO Rouen (3-3) in their game against ADA Blois (5-1) in the French ProB (second division). Despite his very good performance on Saturday night Rebec was the second best scorer with 14 points. He also added 6 rebounds and dished 6 assists.
But the season is still in its first stage and everything can happen.
Rebec averaged so far 11.5ppg, 2.3rpg, 7.0apg and 1.5spg.
He is also in the roster of the Slovenian national team.

   #10. Center Gasper Vidmar (210-87, currently plays in Italy) helped Umana Venezia win their game against the closely-ranked Reggio Emilia (3-3) crushing them 95-75 in the Italian Serie A in Sunday night’s game.
Vidmar scored 6 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 16 minutes.
It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Umana Reyer Venezia (3-0) is placed first in the Serie A.
So far his team won all three games in the Regular Season.
This year Vidmar’s overall stats are: 4.4ppg, 3.5rpg and 1.2apg in 10 games.
He is a former international player as three years ago he still played for the Slovenian senior national team.

   #11. International point guard Jan Span (189-92, agency: Octagon Europe, currently plays in Spain) helped Gipuzkoa edge the fourth-ranked CB Canarias 89-87 in the Spanish Liga Endesa last Sunday.
Span recorded 13 points.
Span’s total stats this season are: 5.8ppg, 1.2rpg and 1.9apg.
He plays currently for the Slovenian national team.

   #12. Former international guard Miha Vasl (192-92, currently plays in Slovakia) couldn’t help Prievidza in their game against Nova Ves in the Slovakian SBL, despite his very good performance on Wednesday night.
Vasl was the top scorer with 26 points in 36 minutes.
But his team was edged 86-84.
Vasl has very impressive stats this year: 17.4ppg, 5.2rpg, 4.2apg and 1.3spg in 18 games.
He used to play for the Slovenian national team
back in 2017.

   #13. International power forward Jurij Macura (211-99, agency: BeoBasket, currently plays in ABA League) helped his Serbian team FMP win their game against the closely-ranked Split 96-92 in the ABA League in Friday night’s game.
Macura scored 8 points, had 5 rebounds and dished 5 assists. It was his first game for FMP this season.
Macura is also Slovenian national team player.

   #14. Former U18 international guard Maksim Gorbachov (190-0, currently plays in Germany) couldn’t help Rist Wedel in their game against ETV in the German ProB (third division), despite his very good performance last Sunday.
He was the second best scorer with 23 points. Gorbachov also added 5 rebounds in 31 minutes.
But his team lost 98-110.
Gorbachov averaged so far 12.0ppg, 1.8rpg, 1.8apg and 1.4spg in five games.
He used to play for the Slovenian U18 national team
back in 2017.

   #15. Former U20 international guard Maj Kovacevic (192-90, currently plays in Croatia) helped Gorica edge the tenth-ranked Alkar 74-73 in the Croatian Premijer Liga on Saturday night.
Kovacevic scored 5 points.
Kovacevic’s total stats this season are: 7.6ppg and 1.1rpg.
He used to play for the Slovenian U20 national team
eleven years ago.

The list of other players, who all have Slovenian passport but never been selected to any of Slovenian national teams:

   #1. Kevin Pangos (186-G-93, college: Gonzaga, currently plays in Euroleague) could not help Zenit (12-6) in their last game on Wednesday. Despite his very good performance Zenit was edged 82-80 on the road by the lower-ranked Bayern Muenchen (#6).
Pangos was the second best scorer with 17 points. He also added 5 assists.
Pangos has relatively good stats this season: 11.6ppg, 2.1rpg and 6.4apg.
He has a dual citizenship: Canadian and Slovenian.

   #2. Rasid Mahalbasic (210-C-90, agency: BeoBasket, currently plays in Germany) contributed to a EWE Baskets‘ victory against the closely-ranked Bayreuth (1-2) 80-73 in the German BBL in Saturday night’s game.
Mahalbasic scored 8 points, had 8 rebounds and dished 8 assists in 22 minutes.
It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. EWE Baskets Oldenburg (10-2) is placed third in the BBL.
It was his team’s sixth consecutive victory in a row.
Mahalbasic has been at the team for four years.
His stats this season are: 10.6ppg, 5.6rpg and 3.8apg in 12 games he played so far.
Mahalbasic is another player who holds two passports: Austrian and Slovenian.

   #3. Luka Garza (211-C-98, currently plays college basketball in the States) led Iowa to an easy victory against the University of Minnesota (3-4) 86-71 in the NCAA in Sunday night’s game.
Garza recorded 33 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 3 assists.
The University of Iowa has a very solid 5-1 conference record this season.
Garza has been at the team for four years.
He has individually a very good year with high stats. Garza averages: 27.6ppg, 8.6rpg, 1.5apg and 1.8bpg.
He has both Slovenian and Bosnia and Herzegovina nationalities.

   #4. Experienced Vasja Pandza (203-G-1, currently studies in the States), who plays in the NCAA was not able to help the Seattle (0-1) in their last game. Despite Pandza’s good performance the Seattle was edged 93-92 in Orem by the Utah Valley University.
He scored 10 points in only 12 minutes.
This year Pandza’s total stats are: 3.7ppg and 1.1rpg in 11 games.
He also holds two passports: British and Slovenian.
Despite Pandza’s Slovenian nationality, he previously played for the British U16 national team and is probably not eligible to play for the Slovenian team.

   #5. Matevz Magusar (185-PG-89, currently plays in Romania) was not able to secure a victory for Miercurea Ciuc (0-4) in their game against Timisoara (2-1) in the Romanian Liga Nationala.
Magusar scored 7 points and added 5 assists.
Miercurea Ciuc was crushed 83-55 on the opponent’s court by the higher-ranked Timisoara (#3).
So far Miercurea Ciuc lost all four games in the Regular Season.
There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical.
Magusar’s total stats this season are: 7.1ppg, 2.1rpg, 2.5apg and 1.1spg.

   #6. Radoslav Pekovic (215-C-94, agency: Alti Sport, currently plays in Russia) couldn’t help Kupol-Rodniki (8-8) in their last game. Despite his good performance Kupol-Rodniki was edged 88-87 at home by the lower-ranked (#10) CSKA Moscow 2nd team.
Pekovic scored 10 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 18 minutes.
Pekovic averaged so far 11.8ppg, 6.7rpg, 1.3apg and 1.2bpg in 13 games.

   #7. Aljaz Vidmar (202-PF-1, currently plays in Iceland) couldn’t help Selfoss in their game against Vestri in the Icelandic D1 (second division).
He scored 6 points.
His team was defeated 82-75.
Vidmar’s total stats this season are: 9.5ppg and 3.5rpg.

   #8. Luka Milovac (192-F-94, currently plays in Austria) couldn’t help BBU in their game against Rocks in the Austrian 2.Bundesliga (second division), despite his good performance in Saturday night’s game.
He scored 11 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 37 minutes.
But his team lost 65-77.
This year Milovac’s total stats are: 9.4ppg, 5.5rpg, 1.9apg and 1.5spg in 11 games.

   #9. Lovro Fizuleto (200-C-92, currently plays in Austria) managed to help KOS Celovec to win against the tenth-ranked Lions 87-68 in the Austrian 2.Bundesliga (second division) last Saturday.
He scored only 4 points, had 5 rebounds and dished 3 assists.
Fizuleto averaged so far 12.9ppg, 8.4rpg and 1.5apg.

   #10. Anze Kos (188-G-93, college: OLLU, currently plays in Austria) is a teammate of previously mentioned Lovro Fizuleto and both played together in the last Austrian 2.Bundesliga game.
Kos helped KOS win their game against the tenth-ranked Lions 87-68.
He scored 6 points in only 9 minutes.
This year Kos’ total stats are: 6.0ppg and 1.2rpg in nine games.
